May '17 in Review

- Curtis has finished up his last month of helping coach Unified Soccer. The kids loved it and Curtis enjoyed helping them learn a new skill!

- Curtis and I got callings as 9 year old primary teachers and Webelos leaders. We are excited to get to teach and learn from these young kids.

- Special Olympics: Brooklyn and I went down to the football field and met Curtis for lunch during the special olympics. Watching all of the kids compete in the special olympics was so much fun!

- Mother's Day weekend we were able to meet my parents in Boise! We had so much fun with them and were so happy to spend a few days with them (even though it's never enough!) We went to the zoo and the Old Idaho State Penitentiary. Brooklyn had a blast at the zoo and slept through most of the prison haha! They turned the old prison into a museum and we all loved it! We're weird and like historical things like that though!

- We went swimming a couple times at Kia Ora. Brooklyn sure loves the water!

- We went and saw the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie. We even took Brooklyn with us and she did so well. The previews were a little dark and it scared her so she snuggled me and then watched the movie!

- Memorial Day weekend Brooklyn and Curtis came down with the flu! Then a few days later I caught it. It hasn't been very fun!

- We went kayaking in the Colombian River. Brooklyn thought it was pretty cool and kept putting her hand out in the water.

- Memorial Day we went to the Mercantile here in town and it was so cool! Tons of fresh food and samples. Which let's be real, the samples are the real reason you go!

Brooklyn: 1 year 6 months

Happy h a l f  birthday to our favorite little girl!

Brooklyn is full of life and is the sweetest and funnest girl around. Her favorite word lately is 'honey' and she sounds so sweet when she says it.

Brooklyn got to celebrate her 2nd Easter this past month and she had so much fun hunting for Easter eggs. She loves cleaning and so picking up Easter eggs and putting them in a basket was perfect for her! She got a baby doll stroller that she has been wanting forever and absolutely loves it! She sits in it and puts her baby dolls in it and pushes it all around.

We went to the trampoline park a few weeks ago. It took Brooklyn a little while to warm up to it but after she was warmed up she had so much fun! She was following kids around on the trampolines and trying to jump all over. By the end she was even jumping in the ball pit all on her own!

Brooklyn got her first bee sting! Curtis, Brooklyn and I went on a walk around the neighborhood. An old couple was out and were talking to us. Brooklyn started crying like crazy when the lady tried to talk to her, which is totally out of character for Brooklyn. When we got home we were playing and I noticed her ankle had welts and was all red and swollen. We then realized she had been stung by a bee! Poor babe. I've never been stung by one so I didn't know what to do, Curtis mixed water and baking soda and we put it on the sting. Within an hour the redness was gone and looked as good as new. Hopefully we can get through the rest of summer without any more bee stings!

Curtis has been helping coach Unified Soccer and so Brooklyn and I will go to their games. Brooklyn thinks she is their coach/cheerleader and everybody loves watching her at their games!

Brooklyn can put her cowgirl boots on all by herself! She usually gets them on the correct feet but not always.

Brooklyn is a jibber jabber. She will tell 100000 stories a day and has the cutest little voice ever! She knows so many words, I just can't believe it.

She loves playing in her swimming pool. Whether shes in her swim suit or pajamas, she is such a water baby! I love it.

Brooklyn had her 18 month check up today and the Dr. said she is doing everything an 18 month old should do and is ahead of her age and progressing very well! She is 27 lbs (90th percentile) and 33 1/2 inches tall (95th percentile). She definitely is growing like a weed and is a big girl.

We love our sweet, happy, sassy little girl so much! She certainly is not a baby anymore and we can't believe how big she is getting!

April '17 in Review

- We started off April with Spring Break in Kansas! We haven't been to Kansas in almost 2 years. It was so much fun to meet more of Curtis' family and show Brooklyn off to everyone. We had a blast and wish we could have stayed longer (cause it took 2 days to drive there and 2 days to drive back!) You can read more about our trip to Kansas here.

-Happy birthday CURTIS! Curtis had to work on his birthday so we celebrated that night by going to Red Robin for dinner. What we didn't know is everyone and their brother have the same birthday as Curtis. There were about 6 other people there for their birthday. I hope Curtis had a good birthday! We sure love him a lot!

-We've gone on a lot of walks.

-Jesse, Haley & Bailey came to visit for a weekend. It was so much fun having them here and spending more time with little Bailey. Brooklyn loves her and loves playing with her sweet baby cousin. We went to the trampoline park while they were here and had so much fun!

-Brooklyn was so cute for Easter! We hid some eggs in the front yard and she had so much fun finding them all and putting them in her Easter basket. The Easter bunny sure spoiled Brooklyn this year. She got a little baby doll stroller and absolutely loves it!

-Curtis is helping coach the Unified soccer team. They have practices on Tuesdays and then games on Saturdays. They are so fun to watch and Brooklyn thinks she is their coach/cheerleader and is adorable at the games.

-Curtis and I got called to be primary teachers and cub scout leaders for the same age as our class. We are so excited to be able to have this calling together and teach the 9/10 year olds in primary!

-Overall we have had a pretty laid back April. Hopefully May will be more eventful and warmer so we can spend more time outside!
